Drawing boundary areas on the map

On the map, you can draw boundary areas for data sources that have been defined as boundary areas.

Before you begin

Create a boundary area data source by following the instructions in the Configuring a data source section. Note the following points:
  • For the data source acquisition method, select User interface entry for geospatial maps.
  • For Boundary area, select Yes.

Configure a pane on the Filter window to display the boundary area data source. For more information, see the Configuring the filter section.

Procedure

  1. Add a new item to the map.
  2. Choose a boundary area data source from the Choose Data Item Type list.
  3. Drag the icon that represents the boundary area data source from the New Item window to the map, and then draw a boundary area.
  4. Double-click, and then enter values in the appropriate fields for the properties of the boundary area data item.
  5. To add the boundary area data item to the map, click Save.
