Optimization profile
Optimization profiles are conditions that evaluate an order and enable fulfillment managers to define the optimization objectives.
By defining the optimization profiles, you can balance predefined business rules with real cost drivers to make the best fulfillment decisions for business outcomes. For example, consider a scenario where you want to prioritize optimization by shipping cost based on the Seller Organization. You can create an optimization profile such that when an order's seller organization is Seller1, then perform only shipping cost optimization. In this case, you must apply the highest weight to the Minimize shipping cost optimization objective so that IBM® Sterling Intelligent Promising optimizes the orders to minimize the shipping cost.
If you are a Sterling Intelligent
Promising Premium customer, you can
use the optimization profiles that are powered by predictive Artificial Intelligence (AI). You can
use optimization profiles to balance predefined business rules with cost drivers. Predictive AI
helps you in understanding the cost-drivers, which you can use while setting optimization profiles.
For example, consider a scenario where you want to avoid stockouts and markdowns. You can create an
optimization profile and apply appropriate optimization objectives based on the cost-drivers that
are predicted by AI.
