Deployment instructions
Follow these instructions to deploy Instana. For help with choosing a deployment option, see Instana deployment options.

SaaS deployment
Instana SaaS is available on AWS and GCP. For supported regions, see Endpoints for the host and cloud service agents.
Prerequisites:
Review the following requirements before you begin:
- Instana agent requirements
- Instana sensor requirements
- Outbound network access requirements: Instana SaaS deployments
- Preparing endpoints and keys
Deployment steps:
- Install Instana agents. See Instana agent deployment.
- (Optional) Contact IBM Support to enable the following features if needed. The features are disabled by default.
- Configure administration settings. See Administer Instana for information about:
- Onboarding users
- Managing API and agent keys
- Configuring role-based access control (RBAC)
- Configuring user interface settings
- Viewing audit logs
Self-hosted deployment
Self-hosted deployment requires installing both the Instana backend and agents.
