Nutanix sensor releases

Instana monitors Nutanix by using the Instana Nutanix sensor. The sensor provides insights into the health and performance of Nutanix. For more information, see Monitoring Nutanix.

Nutanix sensor 1.0.4 is released on 13 January 2025.

Improvements

The Nutanix sensor includes the following improvements:

  • Links VMs with the datacenter and hosts.
  • Includes the storage disks that are attached to the hosts.
  • Added a summary page for the hosts and the details of VMs attached to the host.
  • Introduces new aggregated metrics for cluster-level CPU, memory, cache, and IO stats, along with specific details for these at the host level.
  • Includes operation mode, cluster architecture, and hypervisor types for the datacenter.

Nutanix sensor 1.0.2 is released on 18 November 2024.

Improvements

The Nutanix sensor now includes the following improvements:

  • The sensor displays overall details of the data center, including CPU and memory usage, host count, number of active virtual machines (VMs), total controller read and write operations, and average I/O latency.
  • For hosts, the sensor provides details, such as hostname, associated VM count, CPU cores, CPU and memory usage, and disks attached.
  • For VMs, the sensor includes details, such as VM name, state, type, CPU count, core count, and allocated memory.
