Installing and configuring cloud service agents

Services that are offered by cloud providers are managed directly by them. For example, even though you can get data in and out of an Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) instance, you do not have access to the infrastructure that powers it.

You can install and configure the Instana host agent to collect data from the following cloud services:

• Alibaba Cloud
• Amazon Web Services
• Google Cloud Platform
• IBM Cloud
• Microsoft® Azure

These setups are not intended to monitor particular virtual machines (VM) on the cloud providers. To monitor the hosts and software that run on VM on cloud providers (for example, an Amazon Elastic Cloud (Amazon EC2) VM), see Install the Instana host agent.
