Support strategy for sensors
Instana supports monitoring a variety of software by using sensors. When Instana supports a software, it continues to support any new version that is available for this software.
Supporting a new version of software on Instana is a complex process and it requires the availability of Instana developers. To provide transparency in this process, Instana has its strategy for these sensors. You can see the service level agreements (SLAs) for the timeline of the new versions in the respective sensors table on each sensors page.
Instana classifies all sensors into the following categories based on the support policy:
0-day support
For a software with a 0-day SLA, Instana supports only the version that is available on the day of the software release. Instana provides 0-day support by testing the public preview releases from the community. If the public preview or early releases for a software is unavailable to the general public, Instana cannot provide 0-day support.
45-days support
For software with a 45-day SLA, Instana provides support for the software within 45 days of its release. Most of the software that Instana supports falls into this category.
On-demand support
For software with an on-demand SLA, Instana provides support for new versions after sensors of the software with 0-day and 45-day SLAs or based on customer demand. If you identify some delay in supporting a version, you can open a feature request. For more information, see feature request.
