Instana serverless agents

Instana has native tracing capabilities for the following serverless (also known as Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) or Container-as-a-Service (CaaS)) platforms.

Notes:

• To monitor the following serverless platforms, you need to install the host agent, and then do some additional configurations to configure the specific sensor for serverless monitoring.

  • AWS Lambda
  • Azure Functions
  • Google Cloud Run

  For example, to monitor AWS Lambda, install the Instana host agent first, configure the AWS agent, which is the Instana host agent running in a specialized AWS mode, and then integrate the Instana Lambda tracers with AWS Lambda functions.

• To monitor the containerized applications that are running on AWS Fargate, you need to install only Fargate collectors as described in the Setting up Instana Fargate collectors
