Instana monitors IBM ACE by using the Instana IBM ACE sensor. The sensor provides insights into the health and performance of applications and services that use IBM ACE.

IBM ACE Sensor 1.0.90 is released on 17 March 2026.
Fixes
This release fixes an issue where stopped message flows were incorrectly reported as started in the Instana UI.
Release 1.0.89
IBM ACE Sensor 1.0.89 is released on 16 March 2026.
Fixes
The release improves the parsing logic so that the message flow nodes metrics update atomically to prevent churn in snapshot data. This improvement reduces the amount of storage that is needed in the backend.

Flow node limiting
- This feature enables monitoring of the N slowest flow nodes per message flow, based on maximum elapsed time.
- It also allows configuration of a global limit or customization of the limit per broker.

IBM ACE sensor 1.0.87 is released on 2 February 2026.
Fixes
This release fixes incorrect metric aggregation in cloud-native ACE environments. Previously, thread pool and gauge metrics were summed across accounting origins instead of reporting the actual shared resource values.

This release includes the following improvements:

You can now use the global configuration for message flows for the following purposes:
- Set a limit on the number of message flows that are monitored per Integration Server.
- Sort message flows by a selected metric, either
MaximumElapsedTimeorThreadUtilization, if a limit greater than 0 is specified. This sorting determines which flows are collected.

You can also override the global settings at the broker level, which enables each broker to have customized limits and sorting behavior that operate independently of the global defaults.
