Instana now automatically identifies short-lived events that usually resolve on their own, reducing alert noise and fatigue. These transient events are labeled in the Events table, and you can filter them from the event view. In addition, you can temporarily mute alerts for transient events until the event persists beyond a configured threshold.

The feature is enabled by default for each custom event, but you can adjust the transient threshold, disabling the feature, or configuring alert suppression rules to fine-tune the behavior. This allows teams to focus on persistent issues while safely ignoring events that are too brief to act on. For more information, see Transient events configurations and FAQ.

You can now configure infrastructure Smart Alerts to automatically trigger incidents. This feature enables event correlation and recommended actions for each incident that the Smart Alert generates. For more information, see Infrastructure Smart Alerts.

The Deploy agents button on the Instana home page is now replaced with the Set up a data source button. Clicking the Set up a data source button opens the "Data sources" page, which contains the following two tabs:

• Instana Agents: This tab gives you the following options:

  • Install agents and agent-based integrations
  • Update and reset agents
  • View details of currently deployed agents

• OpenTelemetry Collectors: For more information on the "OpenTelemetry Collectors" tab, see OpenTelemetry collector support in UI.

The OpenTelemetry calls are now improved to link to related infrastructure.

You can now install the OpenTelemetry collector directly from the Instana UI. To install the collector, click the new Set up a data source button on the Instana home page, and then select the OpenTelemetry Collectors tab. This tab provides you the options to install new collectors and gain visibility into the health status of existing collector.

Previously, the markdown rendering on custom dashboards were not working correctly for headings or lists. This issue is now fixed.

Previously, calls that are created from the vertx.client span were not linked to a Kubernetes service. This issue is now fixed.

• Security vulnerabilities CVE-2025-41234 and CVE-2025-47279 are fixed in Synthetic PoP.
• Security vulnerabilities CVE-2024-0406, CVE-2025-24882, CVE-2025-32386, and CVE-2025-32387 are fixed in the popctl tool.
