Managing users in an integrated Concert SaaS trial

Instana administrators can add users and assign roles in an integrated IBM Concert SaaS trial by using the IBM SaaS Console. You can access the console from the unified navigation menu in the Instana user interface (UI).

Before you begin

Make sure that you have the following prerequisites:

  • You have an Instana SaaS deployment and are in the Owner role.
  • You have a Concert SaaS trial or full SaaS license under the same account as your Instana account.

About this task

When you start an integrated SaaS trial of Concert under the same account as your Instana instance, you can manage user access and permissions from a unified view in the IBM SaaS Console. If you have the Instana Owner role, you can access the console from the Instana UI.

Adding or removing users

  1. In the Instana UI, open the unified navigation menu and select Manage subscriptions.
  2. On the Manage subscriptions page, find your Concert subscription and click Manage access.
  3. Log in to the IBM SaaS Console with your IBMid.
    • If you do not have an IBMid, click Create an IBMid and follow the instructions to create one.
  4. On the Access management page, click Add users.
  5. In the Add users dialog, configure the following details:
    1. Specify one or more user email addresses.
    2. From the Resource menu, select Services.
    3. Select your Concert subscription and instance.
    4. Select a role. For more information about Concert roles, see Instance-level access in the Concert documentation.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Confirm that the users appear in the list:
    • To review user details, click the username.
    • To remove a user, click the username and click Remove user.

Results

The users are added to the Concert SaaS trial with their assigned roles. Each user receives a confirmation email with instructions to access the trial instance.
