Features

JavaScript agent W3CHeader support

JavaScript agent 1.7.5 now supports W3C-compliant headers in requests to the backend. Instana can now monitor websites with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) instrumented backends, even without the Instana agent on the backend. This enhancement broadens the range of applications that you can monitor, ensuring complete system visibility regardless of the backend's instrumentation.

For more information, see W3CHeader support.

Support for W3C headers in mobile agents

Mobile agents, such as android-agent (6.2.1 and later), iOS-agent (1.9.1 and later), react-native-agent(2.0.8 and later), and flutter-agent (3.1.1 and later), now support W3C-compliant headers in requests to the backend. Instana can now monitor mobile apps with OpenTelemetry-instrumented backends, even without the Instana agent on the backend. This enhancement broadens the range of applications that you can monitor, helping ensure complete system visibility regardless of the backend's instrumentation.

Smart Alerts for websites

A new metric, HTTP latency, is added to the slowness blueprint in the website Smart Alerts. This metric allows users to create alerts based on the beacon duration of HTTP requests.

Support for XenServer monitoring (public preview)

Instana now supports monitoring XenServer hosts. For more information, see Monitoring XenServer (public preview).

Argo CD monitoring (public preview)

You can now monitor Argo CD deployments with the Instana Argo CD sensor. For more information, see Monitoring Argo CD.
