Host sensor releases
Instana monitors a host by using the Instana host sensor. The sensor provides insights into the health and performance of the host. For more information, see Monitoring Host.
1.1.195
Host sensor 1.1.195 is released on 27 March 2025.
Features
Host sensor 1.1.195 now supports disk metrics on Linux.
1.1.193
Host sensor 1.1.193 is released on 26 March 2025.
Fixes
In Solaris-SPARC, when the host sensor used an mdb
command to retrieve open files metrics, the system failed because of high CPU usage. This issue is now fixed.
1.1.192
Host sensor 1.1.192 is released on 20 March 2025.
Fixes
Previously, the CPU usage metric consistently displayed 100% for IBM i hosts. This issue is now fixed.
1.1.191
Host sensor 1.1.191 is released on 11 March 2025.
Fixes
This release adds the following fixes:
- Previously, the sensor could not handle the
resolv.conf
file parsing error, which caused issues. This issue is now fixed, and the sensor can handle both error and exception in the file parsing. - Previously, the
disable-reverse-dns
flag check encountered issues and failed. This issue is now fixed.
1.1.190
Host sensor 1.1.190 is released on 4 March 2025.
Improvements
The Instana agent that is running natively in the IBM AS/400 host now uses a shared connection to collect metrics.
1.1.188
Host sensor 1.1.188 is released on 24 February 2025.
Improvements
The Host sensor now supports empty process names in the nvidia-smi --query
results from the latest NVIDIA drivers.
1.1.186
Host sensor 1.1.186 is released on 17 February 2025.
Improvements
The Instana Host sensor now supports the new output format of tools from the latest NVIDIA drivers. It can now process both the old Gpu and the new GPU keys for GPU utilization metrics.
1.1.185
Host sensor 1.1.185 is released on 13 February 2025.
Features
The Host sensor now collects machineId on Linux, macOS, and Windows systems.
The machineId is used to correlate OpenTelemetry entities with the Host entities by using the sensor.
1.1.184
Host sensor 1.1.184 is released on 10th February 2025.
Features
The sensor now includes the following memory metrics for AIX systems:
- Real Available Memory
- Page-scans per second
You can now monitor the data for volume groups and physical volumes of AIX systems by using the sensor.
1.1.182
Host sensor 1.1.182 is released on 10th December 2024.
Improvements
This release addresses the issue where the host sensor crashed because the Netty library failed while fetching the DNS address.
