Follow these steps to remove Installation Manager from your workstation.
Before you begin
Before you uninstall Installation Manager, you must uninstall all the packages that were
installed by Installation Manager. Close Installation Manager before you start the uninstall
process.
About this task
You must log on to your workstation with a user account that has the same privileges as the
user account used to install Installation Manager.
Procedure
The following steps describe how to uninstall Installation Manager:
- Windows:
- Open the Control Panel and click Add or Remove
Programs.
- On the Change or Remove Programs page, select IBM® Installation Manager, and click Remove.
- In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Yes to
continue with the removal.
- Linux® and UNIX:
- Click the Uninstall IBM Installation Manager icon on your desktop.
- If the icon is not present, take the following steps:
- Open a terminal window.
- Change to the
\\agent_data_directory\uninstall directory
for Installation Manager. For the default locations for the
agent data directory, see the Default locations for the agent data location table. If you did not use a default location
for the agent data directory, see Agent data
location.
- Run the command:
uninstall
- In the Uninstall wizard, click .
- When the process finishes, you are prompted to log out of your system.
Note: Before Installation Manager version 1.10, if you receive
an error when uninstalling Installation Manager on Solaris, close the dialog box with the error
message. Next, manually delete the following empty directories:
/var/ibm/InstallationManager/uninstall and
/var/ibm/InstallationManager.
- OS X operating system:
- Open Finder.
- Go to the Installation Manager data directory.
- Click Uninstall.app to start the uninstall process.
Results
You uninstalled Installation Manager from your computer.
