Coupling facility structure naming convention

A coupling facility structure name is 16 characters long, padded on the right with blanks if necessary.

The name can contain any of the following, but must begin with an uppercase, alphabetic character:

• Uppercase alphabetic characters
• Numeric characters
• Special characters ($, @, and #)
• Underscore (_)

IBM® names begin with:

• 'SYS'
• Letters 'A' through 'I' (uppercase)
• An IBM component prefix
