Offline installation of catalog non-structural changes

Find the maintenance procedure for offline installation of catalog non-structural changes on an IMS system.

Perform the following steps to install non-structural changes to the catalog while IMS is offline.

Procedure

  1. Stop IMS, make sure that IMS is not active.
  2. Run the DFS3UACB utility to perform an ACBGEN and to populate the new DFSCD000 instance in the IMS Catalog and in the IMS directory.
  3. Start IMS.

The maintenance that provides the catalog resource changes might include post activation procedures. This might include running the IMS Catalog Maintenance utility (DFS3CM00) to update data in the catalog database. You might have to refer to the maintenance hold cards for the post activation steps.
