ALTID= parameter for procedures

Use the ALTID= parameter to specify a 1- to 4-character name for an alternate IMS system.

You can set the ALTID= parameter using the DFSOPT DD statement in IMS-supplied procedures. The syntax for the ALTID= parameter is:

ALTID=char str (No default)

For more information, see DFSOPT DD in DD statements for IMS procedures.

When your IMS message processing region tries to link to an IMS system, it tries to link to the system specified by the IMSID= parameter. If no IMS system matches the name that is specified with IMSID, the message processing region tries the system that is specified with the ALTID= parameter. If no IMS system matches the name that is specified with ALTID=, what happens next depends upon the option you choose on the OPT= parameter.
