Shutting down an IMS network (SLU P)
Shutting down an IMS network may or may not include IMS.
The IMS /CHECKPOINT command
is used to invoke termination of the network and a shutdown of IMS. The format of /CHECKPOINT used
determines whether the network termination occurs immediately or waits
for workstation processing to complete:
- /CHECKPOINT FREEZE|DUMPQ|PURGE QUIESCE
- Allows all workstations to complete normal processing before shutting down IMS.
- /CHECKPOINT FREEZE|DUMPQ|PURGE
- Causes immediate session termination for all workstations.
