BPE0014E ABEND IN RECOVERY ROUTINE

Explanation

A BPE recovery routine (BRR) that was intended to provide recovery for abnormal terminations in a section of code itself encountered an abend. A BRR is an internal recovery routine established by either BPE or the IMS component using BPE to protect a functional area. BRRs run in either a z/OS® ESTAE or FRR environment and attempt to recover from abnormal terminations that occur in mainline code.

System action

The BPE ESTAE or FRR treats this abend as if the recovery routine indicated that it could not recover, and continues abend processing. Usually, this results in the abnormal termination of the address space. However, other BRRs were established when the abend occurred, recovery of the original abend still might occur.
