Defining partitions

You can define partitions using DBRC, not DDL. However, the database must be defined with DDL first, then it can be created with DBRC.

Ensure that you have already defined the database using DDL. Ensure that you have update authority for the RECON data sets.

Procedure

  1. Register the HALDB master database with DBRC by using either DBRC batch command INIT.DB.
  2. Define the partitions to DBRC using the DBRC batch command INIT.PART.
