Determining average database record size
After you determine segment size and segment frequency, you can determine the average size of a database record.
To determine average database record size for a HISAM database, multiply segment size and segment frequency together for each segment type in the database record, then add the results. For example, for the database record shown in Determining segment frequency, the average database record size is calculated as shown in the following table.
