Status codes for secondary indexes

If a secondary index is defined for a segment and if the definition specifies a unique key for the secondary index (most secondary indexes allow duplicate keys), your application program might receive the NI status code in addition to regular status codes.

This status code can be received for a PCB that either uses or does not use the secondary index as a processing sequence. See IMS Version 15.2 Messages and Codes, Volume 4: IMS Component Codes for additional information about the NI status code.
