DBD record segment formats

The DBD record segments in the IMS catalog are used to store information about an IMS database definition (DBD).

The following figure shows the high level organization of an IMS catalog record for a DBD:

The HEADER segment type with a DBD child segment is shown. A DBD segment can have child segments of the following types: CAPXDBD, DBDRMK, DSET, AREA, SEGM, and DBDVEND. A DSET segment can have a DSETRMK child segment. An AREA segment can have an AREARMK segment. A SEGM segment can have child segments of the following types: CAPXSEGM, SEGMRMK, FLD, LCHILD, and MAP. A FLD segment can have child segments of the following types: FLDRMK and MAR. A MAR segment can have child segments of the following types: MARRMK and PROP. An LCHILD segment can have child segments of the following types: LCHRMK, LCH2IDX, and XDFLD. A MAP segment can have child segments of the following types: MAPRMK and CASE. A CASE segment can have child segments of the following types: CASERMK and CFLD. A CFLD segment can have child segments of the following types: CFLDRMK and CMAR. A CMAR segment can have child segments of the following types: CMARRMK and CPROP.
