Activating DDL-defined resources with the IMPORT DEFN command

In many cases, DDL-defined resources are not activated automatically, but instead stored in a pending state in a staging data set of the IMS catalog. To activate pending DDL-defined resources use the IMPORT DEFN SOURCE(CATALOG) command.

In an IMSplex, if you are changing only PSBs, you can use the IMPORT DEFN SOURCE(CATALOG) command with the UPDATEPSB and REFRESHPSB options to activate the PSB change in a subset of systems in the IMSplex before activating the change in the IMSplex as a whole.
