Starting or restarting IMS
Starting or restarting an IMS subsystem means initializing the IMS control region.
To restore the operating environment, the MTO must ensure the following are also initialized:
- All IRLMs
- All CQSs
- Any dependent regions (including utilities)
- All CSL address spaces (OM, RM, and SCI), if operating as an IMSplex using CSL
- Any connections to VTAM®
- All communication lines and terminals
The term MTO used in this information refers to the IMS master terminal operator for the DB/DC and
DCCTL environments, and to the operator for the DBCTL environment.
All commands shown assume that the command-recognition character is
the forward slash (/).
See IMS Version 15 Operations and Automation for additional information.
