Performing diagnostics after unplanned takeovers

If the takeover was unplanned, use existing procedures to determine the cause of the takeover on the failed active subsystem.

You might, for example:

Request service aid information using a z/OS® MODIFY IMS,DUMP command.
Perform problem determination.
Identify the component that caused the subsystem to fail.
If the subsystem is dumping, let it continue.
