Completing dynamic backouts and starting databases
Use the /DISPLAY DB BKERR command to
determine whether dynamic DL/I backout has failed for any database
on nonshared DASD. If it has, switch the DASD to make the database
available to the alternate subsystem (using, for example, an IBM® 3814 switching unit), and issue
a /START DB or UPDATE DB START(ACCESS) command
for the affected database to perform the incomplete backout. For shared
databases, include the GLOBAL keyword on the /START or
route the UPDATE command to all IMS systems in the IMSplex.
The /DISPLAY DB BKERR command
does not show databases and VSAM KSDSs stopped because of extents
by the failing active subsystem in progress during takeover. The following
messages inform you of these: DFS2012I, DFS0772I,
and DFS0773I. These messages list stopped databases,
stopped shared databases, and KSDSs that were not backed out.
