Removing a spare WADS
You might need to remove a spare write-ahead data set (WADS). WADS contains log records that reflect completed operations and are not yet written to an online log data set.
Procedure
- Issue the /STOP WADSn command (and wait for dynamic deallocation).
- Scratch the spare WADS.
- Update WADSDEF statement in the LOGGER section of the DFSDFxxx member of IMS.PROCLIB.
- Remove DD statement in IMS JCL.
- Modify operating procedures.
