IMS High Performance System Generation Tools 2.4 new functions

IMS High Performance System Generation Tools is using the Continuous Delivery model for providing customers with new function. This topic is used to communicate new functions of IMS High Performance System Generation Tools 2.4 as they become available.

Name Enhancements on issuing IMS commands through the ISPF Option C interface
Description IMS HP System Generation Tools has been enhanced to support IMS type-2 commands for option C from the Primary Options menu. In addition, this enhancement enables users to issue type-1 and type-2 commands to either a single IMS subsystem or an IMS group, which can contain multiple IMS subsystems.

Name Enhancement to support startup parameters for the ISPF interface
Description This APAR supports specifying startup parameters for the ISPF interface so that IMS High Performance System Generation Tools processes only the predetermined installation target, IOHPDS, and menu items. These parameters can be specified only for the IOHXEXEC command.

You can specify the installation target and the IOHPDS name by using the IMSID, TARGET, GRPMBR, and IOHPDS parameters. If these parameters are specified, IMS High Performance System Generation Tools restricts the installation target and the IOHPDS that you can process. You can also select primary option menu items to be displayed by specifying the MENU parameter.

Name Support for creating and deleting resource update lists by new batch utility
Description This APAR provides a new batch utility, the Resource Update List Generator, that creates and deletes resource update lists without having to use the ISPF interface.

The Resource Update List Generator runs as an MVS batch job.

It generates resource update lists and stores them in the IOHPDS data set by using the control statements specified in the SYSIN DD statement. It can also delete resource update lists from the IOHPDS data set.
