IMS Recovery Solution Pack 2.1 new functions

This APAR provides a new CLIST parameter DB2REPFX in the BSYV220 member to connect IBM IMS Recovery Expert for z/OS and IBM Db2 Recovery Expert Pro for z/OS. When you use the coordinated application recovery feature or the combined system level backup feature by connecting IMS Recovery Expert and Db2 Recovery Expert or Db2 Recovery Expert Pro, specify DB2REPFX(ARY) to connect to Db2 Recovery Expert or DB2REPFX(HRG) to connect to Db2 Recovery Expert Pro.

When the site default definition is provided in the JCL, IMS HP Change Accumulation Utility combines the definition in the site default definition and the specification in the HPCSYSIN DD at run time; reducing the need to specify parameters every time.

Specifies, when an error occurs in one of the image copy processes, whether to stop image copy processing for all database data sets in the same job step (STOP) or continue processing (CONT).

When IC_ERROR=STOP is specified with FASTIC=N or FASTIC=(opt,FDUMP) and an error occurs, sub-tasks might end with ABEND S33E (ABEND33E) and the job step terminates with ABEND 3988 (ABENDU3988).

Using the new recovery type option INITONLY, you can set the system recovery profile so that the objects in the profile are initialized instead of recovered. This option is valid only for a DR system recovery profile.

This APAR enhances the Image Copy function to:

• Support the large block interface (LBI)

  A new keyword, LBI, has been supported for the GLOBAL statement.

  LBI=Y specifies to use the large block interface (LBI), which allows block sizes that are greater than 32 KB, when creating output image copy data sets.

• Change the handling of Fast Path secondary indexes

  Formally, the Image Copy function required the IDXSRCH=Y option to identify FPSIs, and the area data set that uses the secondary index database must be processed in the same job step. After this APAR/PTF is applied, if FPINDEX=YES is defined in the DBD of the index database, the area data set does not have to be processed in the same job step.
