Support for DEDBs that have more than 2048 areas

The tools of IMS HP Fast Path Utilities can process DEDBs that have more than 2048 areas.

To define and use a DEDB with more than 2048 areas (up to 9999 areas), PTFs for the following APARs must be applied:
  • APAR PH35790 to IMS Fast Path Solution Pack 2.1
  • APAR PH12671 to IMS 15

IMS Fast Path Advanced Tool

All the functions of FPA can process a DEDB that has more than 2048 areas.

The following table shows the conditions for processing a DEDB that has more than 2048 areas in one job step.

Restrictions:
  • If RESTART=YES is specified, the Unload function and the Reload function cannot process a DEDB that has more than 2048 areas.
  • If ICOUT=YES is specified, all the functions of FPA cannot process a DEDB that has more than 2048 areas.
Note: The actual number of areas that are processed in one job step might be less depending on the system resource availability.

IMS Fast Path Basic Tools

All the tools of FPB cannot process a DEDB that has more than 2048 areas.

IMS Fast Path Online Tools

All the tools of FPO can process a DEDB that has more than 2048 areas.
