Installing SOAP Gateway
Use the provided installation roadmap to guide your installation. Installation must be completed by a system programmer who is familiar with installation tasks on z/OS®.
- Ensure that you meet the System requirements and the Software requirements.
- Review
the Planning for installation information to
understand the installation process and required software, your configuration and setup
requirements, server upgrade path, and skill requirements. The following software is required before
you can install SOAP Gateway:
- IBM 64-bit and IBM
31-bit Java software development kit (SDK), Java Technology Edition, Version 7, with the minimum required version of
V7.0.9.10.
You can order Java for z/OS through Shopz by using PID 5655-W44 for Java for z/OS 64 bit, or PID 5655-W43 for 31 bit. The non-SMP/E installable package can be downloaded from the download site at http://www.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/tools/java/.
- IBM Installation
Manager for z/OS
V 1.8.3 or later.
IBM Installation Manager for z/OS must be installed. You can order IBM Installation Manager for z/OS V1.4 (PID: 5655-IMZ) from Shopz and apply maintenance to upgrade to a minimum of V1.8.3 (PTF UI28795).
- IBM 64-bit and IBM
31-bit Java software development kit (SDK), Java Technology Edition, Version 7, with the minimum required version of
V7.0.9.10.
- Order IMS Enterprise Suite from Shopz.
- Print the Program Directory for IMS Enterprise Suite
V3.02 (GI10-8964).
The Program Directory contains detailed block size requirements and operational requirements, such as the required version of IBM SMP/E for z/OS for installation. The Program Directory also provides information about the function modification identifiers (FMIDs), the installation instructions, and any required service process.
- Check for any SOAP Gateway APARs that need to be installed. For more information about applying services, see Applying maintenance services on z/OS.
