IBM InfoSphere MDM Custom Domain Hub, Version 10.1A trust factor, also known as a trust element, represents a criterion to determine the reliability of data. More specifically, trust factors indicate the level of trust for a particular object or data element. In most cases, the level of trust placed on information will be determined not by a single trust factor, but by a set of trust factors.
To enable InfoSphere® MDM Custom Domain Hub to better process trust factors, they are measured using a trust score. Trust scores are quantitative representations of a trust factor that use an algorithm to map the information related to the trust factor. Some trust element attribute values are taken from user input, and other values are calculated or system generated.
InfoSphere MDM Custom Domain Hub calculates trust scores using external rules. Although there is more than one way to calculate a trust score, the Location sample offers just one method.
