Publishing and exporting trusted master data from InfoSphere MDM
You can publish or export your trusted master data from InfoSphere MDM to use in other systems. InfoSphere MDM provides tooling and support to make it easier to export MDM data.
Key publishing scenarios
There are several situations in which you might need to publish or export master data from your InfoSphere MDM Standard or Advanced Edition system. This is an partial list of the key scenarios.
- Publishing physical or virtual master data records to IBM® Software Hub, IBM Cloud Pak for Data as a Service, or IBM Cloud®
-
A trusted AI pipeline starts with trusted data. The foundation of the best AI pipelines includes trusted data, trusted machine learning models, and trusted algorithms. There are different services that enable you to publish your trusted master data into IBM Software Hub, IBM Cloud Pak for Data as a Service, or IBM Cloud:
- The IBM
Master Data Management
service on IBM Software Hub addresses the need for trusted
data. IBM Master Data Management
enables you to consolidate data from sources across your business to help you to establish a
360-degree view of your customers. Sources can come from anywhere, including your existing InfoSphere
MDM
system or other systems with transactional or clickstream data. Note: Prior to IBM Software Hub 5.3, the IBM Master Data Management service is known as IBM Match 360.
- The IBM Master Data Management service on Cloud Pak for Data as a Service and IBM Cloud mirrors the functionality of the Cloud Pak for Data offering, but does so in a full cloud environment, eliminating the need for installation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance. Cloud Pak for Data as a Service is fully managed by IBM on IBM Cloud.
See the MDM Publisher documentation for information about publishing master data from InfoSphere MDM to IBM Software Hub, Cloud Pak for Data as a Service, and IBM Cloud.

- Exporting physical master data in a near real-time pipeline
-
Use Apache Kafka to set up a pipeline of your trusted MDM data from InfoSphere MDM Advanced Edition. Publish, subscribe to, and process streams of records as changes occur.
- Use a combination of the Kafka Channel and runtime stream processors for near real-time data synchronization.
- Use the batch stream processor to synchronize InfoSphere MDM data directly by connecting to the MDM database and synchronizing physical MDM data in batch mode.
See Exporting physical MDM data using Kafka for more information about configuring Apache Kafka data exports from InfoSphere MDM.
