String value files are text files that contain the specific
string values associated with a string code type. For example, an
anonymous name string value file contains all of the names that you
want identified as "anonymous" for your configuration.
About this task
The string code value files that are available
depend on the given string code type. String code values are managed
in InfoSphere®
MDM Workbench Configuration
perspective.
Procedure
- In the View list, select Expert.
- In the configuration editor, select Strings.
- In the Strings view,
click New.
- In the New String Value File window,
type the name of the text file you want to use to store the string
code values. This file must end with a .txt filename
extension.
- Click OK. The string
value file is created and appears in the String value file list
for the selected string code.
- Click Edit….
The string value file opens in the editor and you can begin to add
values. Use the vertical bar (|) character to separate fields. The
# character denotes a line used to label the fields in the file.
For the fields to specify for each string type,
see String file fields to be defined .
The fields in the file differ depending on the type of the string
code selected.
- If you are creating a string code value file
for anonymous addresses, the address values must be standardized.
See Standardizing anonymous address strings.
- Save the file and close its editor tab when
you are finished adding values. The new values now appear in the Strings view.
