Message Brokers

The Message Broker components provide generic interfaces that are designed to manage communication to and from external source systems and the MDM operational server.

The components are as follows:
  • Inbound brokers
  • Outbound brokers
  • Mapping broker (Mapping Message Manager)
  • Routing broker (Routing Message Manager)
  • HL7 query broker
These components support client-specific messages for the following message types:
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML) - XML messages map data values to MDM database tables by using XML code
  • Health Level 7 (HL7v2 and v3) - HL7 is the standard protocol for healthcare systems
  • Fixed length - fixed-length messages are based character and space counts
  • Delimited - delimited messages contain fields that are separated by commas, pipes, or tabs
