Creating a cheat sheet

As an Eclipse-based application, MDM Workbench supports the use of cheat sheets. Cheat sheets are custom dialogs that list the steps involved in performing specific tasks, and provide links that launch the MDM Workbench tools used to perform those steps.

About this task

Use this procedure to create a cheat sheet.

Procedure

  1. From the main MDM Workbench menu, select File > New > Other....
  2. In the New window, expand User Assistance and select Cheat Sheet.
  3. Click Next.
  4. In the New Cheat Sheet wizard, select the project into which you want to create the cheat sheet. If you want, you can place it into an existing folder within the project.
  5. In the File name field, type a file name for storing the cheat sheet. Cheat sheets are saved in XML format, and the file name automatically receives the .XML extension.
  6. In the Cheat Sheet Type group box, select Simple Cheat Sheet.
  7. Click Finish.

Results

A new file is created in the Navigator view with the file name you provided. The cheat sheet automatically opens in the Simple Cheat Sheet Editor.

For information about the cheat sheet functionality, see the Eclipse documentation, which you can find at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-ecl-cheatsheets/.
