Scripts packaged in the InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management pattern

The virtual system pattern for InfoSphere® MDM Reference Data Management Hub include several script packages that are used to deploy an application instance.

The supplied InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub patterns each use a subset of the available script packages. You can customize the patterns to include or exclude script packages as required for your deployment.

Software component
This software component prepares the environment, installs InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub from the IBM Installation Manager repository, then configures the application. The basic functions include the following:
  • Upgrades for the WebSphere Application Server SDK to V1.7.1.
  • Sets the WebSphere Application Server environment, including the JDBC path and JVM properties, and start the cluster.
  • Install the IBM DB2 client.
  • Prepares the database for InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub:
    • Creates table spaces, index spaces, and long spaces
    • Sets up buffer pool
    • Modifies the silent installation response file to enable InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub database creation
  • Generates a response file for the target InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub version.
  • Installs InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub using the generated response file.
  • Configures the extracted InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub media.
  • Fixes known issues that appear when running InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub on WebSphere Application Server.

Script packages

The supplied InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub pattern uses a subset of the available script packages. You can customize the patterns to include or exclude script packages as required for your deployment.

MDMRDM Create DB Script
This script package creates the InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub database tables and schema
MDMRDM switch DB2 License
The script package switches the IBM DB2 license for InfoSphere MDM Reference Data Management Hub.
MDMRDM Upgrade Java SDK
This script package upgrades the Java SDK level of WebSphere Application Server profiles to version 1.7.1.
MDMRDM install DB2® Server Custom Client
This script package installs the DB2 Runtime Client.
MDMRDM Start Server
This script package starts the cluster server. The cluster server is created by the WebSphere create static cluster script package, which is part of the pattern type IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Patterns.
MDMRDM Create Static Cluster
This script package creates static cluster members based on values provided by the user.
