Adding a dependency on the MDM Application Toolkit

Adding a dependency to the process application on the MDM Application Toolkit enables you to use the library items that are included in the toolkit.

About this task

IBM Process Designer enables you to reuse the library items from a toolkit in your process applications. Adding a dependency on a toolkit, makes the library items in that toolkit available for you to use as you build your process application.

The MDM Application Toolkit includes library items, such as integration services, that you can use to quickly build processes to access master data. To take advantage of the toolkit library items, you need to add a dependency on the toolkit.

Important: For every new application that you create, you must add dependencies on the toolkits that you want to use to build that process application.

Procedure

  1. In the Process Center, click Open in Designer next to the name of your new process.
The new, empty process opens in the Designer window. The name of your process appears at the top of the Library pane. The Process App Settings for your process is displayed in the Canvas. From the Process App Settings you can access general information about a process, such as the Description on the Overview tab or information about the authorization settings.
  2. From the Library on the left side of the Designer window, select the + icon next to the TOOLKITS category.
  3. In the Add Dependency list that appears, select the latest version in the list. The versions have the format V11.3_YYYYMMDDD_HHMM, for example V11.3_20140425_1015.
The MDM Application Toolkit should now appear under the list of TOOLKITS in the Library.
  4. Expand the MDM Application Toolkit.
A list of component categories appears starting with All, Processes, User Interfaces, and so on.
  5. Click All to view a list of the library items that are in the toolkit.
