Most of the options for the data analysis jobs are self-explanatory.

More information is provided for select options where needed.

Capture Same/Diff Rule for an Entity (mpxrule)
This job writes out "same rule" or "different rules" for a given entity type to .bin files.
Compare Members in Bulk job (mpxcomp utility)
The Compare Members in Bulk job (mpxcomp utility) enables the comparison of records and is one of the processes used during bulk (BXM) and incremental cross matches (IXM).
Derive Data and Create UNLs (mpxdata)
The Derive Data and Create UNLs (mpxdata) job performs several steps while running, from parsing data into UNL files to deriving data and organizing member records into buckets. The Derive Data and Create UNLs (mpxdata) job also creates binary files, which are used to compare data faster than scanning through strings.
Derive Data from Server (mpxredvd)
The Derive Data from Server (mpxredvd) job can be used both to derive member data (creating mpi_memcpd.unl and mpi_mekbkd.unl files), and (optionally) to create binary data files for use in a bulk cross match (BXM).
Derive Data from UNLs (mpxfsdvd)
This Derive Data from UNLs (mpxfsdvd) job is a data derivation method that uses pre-existing member unload files to extract and create comparison strings, bucket hashes, and binaries. It is most commonly used when you have made changes to your algorithm, but the data itself has not changed.
Export Linkage History (mpxxeia)
The Export Linkage History (mpxxeia) job is a cross match program used to unload existing entity linkage data from the database (unloads the mpi_entxeia_enttype table to binary format).
Link Entities (mpxlink)
The Link Entities (mpxlink) job is a cross match program, which, along with mpxcomp utilty, makes up the bulk cross match (BXM) operation and enables entity linkage. Link Entities (mpxlink) takes comparison results from the mpxcomp utility or Sort Binary Link Data (mpxsort) operation and creates entity link and task files (UNL files) that can be loaded into the database.
Link Relationships
Relationships link entities together, so to run the relationship linker, information about which members belong to which entities must be available. Use the Link Relationships job to run the relationship linker.
Register Virtual Entities for Physical MDM
In a hybrid MDM implementation, you can choose to create partial records of entities in the physical MDM database that serve as associations to the full entity information stored in the virtual MDM. Use the Register Virtual Entities for Physical MDM job to create the data within the physical MDM.
Prepare Binary Files (mpxprep)
The Prepare Binary Files (mpxprep) job is a cross match program is used to generate bulk cross match (BXM) data.
Sort Binary Link Data (mpxsort)
The Sort Binary Link Data (mpxsort) job reorders the bulk cross match linkage (bxmlink) file when there are multiple member parts (memparts) or multiple threads used during creation of the bxmlink file.
