Classic or composite algorithm function names

Some of the classic function names shown in the Algorithms tab of the Configuration Editor can seem obscure to new users. The Use classic functions option determines whether the classic names or composite names are displayed.

For example, the comparison function DR1D1A is listed in the Algorithms tab as “Edit distance” when the Use classic functions option is disabled. Several edit distance functions are differentiated by the number of dimensions, and whether they are ‘quick,' ‘full' or ‘simple.' When you use Composite mode, these discriminators are specified using the Kind and Type properties.

To enable or disable the Use classic functions option, select Window > Preferences > Master Data Management > Configuration Editor. The default is disabled, which displays the composite (plain English) names.
