Configuring the classification scheme

A classification scheme forms a group of categories under which an item is classified. Currently, along with an internal classification scheme (internal to suppliers and retailers), GDS supports the Global Product Classification (GPC) scheme. GPC is the de-facto standard currently being used within Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). You can configure the classification scheme by editing the gds.properties file.

Procedure

  1. Open an editor and go to <MDMPIM Installed Directory>/etc/default/gds.properties.
  2. Set the Internal_Classification_Scheme value to any one of the following two values in the gds.properties file:
    • Internal_hierarchy
    • GPC_Hierarchy
  3. Restart IBM® InfoSphere® Master Data Management Collaboration Server - Collaborative Edition.
