You can export data values to a comma-separated values
(CSV) format or Extensible Markup Language (XML) file for import to
another data set or use in an external system. You can also define
or use export formats when exporting reference values. Export formats
save the selected attributes when exporting reference data sets.
Before you begin
Click the
Reference Data Sets tab and
choose the reference data set to work with.
Procedure
- Right-click the version that you want to export, and choose Export from
the menu. The Export wizard opens.
- Optional: If any export formats were previously
saved, you can select one to use. If needed, you can delete unwanted
export formats.
- Click Next.
- Choose whether to export the data in CSV or XML format.
- Optional: Make any needed adjustments to the
date, time formats, or the time offset.
- If you chose CSV as the file format, indicate the separator
to be used in the file. In most cases, CSV files use commas to separate
fields, but you might need a different character.
- Click Next.
- Choose the reference data set properties to be included
in the export file by highlighting a property in the Available properties
list and moving it to the Selected properties list.
- Choose the reference value properties to be included in
the export file by highlighting a property in the Available properties
list and moving it to the Selected properties list. The Code and Name
properties must be exported.
- If you want the translated reference values to be included
in the export file, enable Export the value translations.
- Click Next.
- If you want to change the name of a property as it is displayed
in the export file, click the property name in the Exported Name column
and edit it.
- Click Next.
- If you want to save the export attributes you chose:
- Click Save and overwrite to overwrite an
export format you chose in step 2.
- Click Save as and provide a name for the
new export format.
- Click Next.
- If your export is successful, you can download the file
to save the exported file, or open it in a browser or file editor.
- To exit the wizard, click Done.
