Creating master data using Demand Side Global Data Synchronization
Using Demand Side Global Data Synchronization, you can
publish new trade items and item hierarchies to demand side trading
partners.
Working with notifications
You can view and in some cases take action on notifications
for publications, subscriptions, items, and trading partners. The
home page in the Demand Side has a list of all the notifications and
the total number of notifications. You can click a notification to
go directly to the notifications screen.
Managing subscriptions
You can manage subscriptions using the Demand Side Global
Data Synchronization.
Managing messages
You can view information about all types of Catalogue Item
Notification (CIN) and Request For Catalogue Item Notification (RFCIN)
messages from your trading partners. When using the demand side of
global data synchronization, you receive CINs for item hierarchies.
You can receive CIN messages of type new item or initial load. Changes
to already published item hierarchies can be received as item change
or item correct CIN messages. A datapool sends only those item hierarchies
to the retailer which meet the supplier's publication and retailer's
subscriptions criteria.
Managing initial load publications
An initial load publication is a synchronization
message that is received for a trade item that has already been published
to you by the supplier.
Managing new item publications
A new item publication is published by the
supplier. A new item published notification display under the New
Item Publication tab.
Managing item change publications
An item change publication is sent by the
supplier when the supplier wants to append some information of the
trade items or the item hierarchy.
Managing item correct publications
An item correct publication is published by
the supplier to make changes to some of the already published properties
of the trade items or the item hierarchy.
Managing item delete publications
An item delete publication is published by
the supplier. A delete item publication notification informs the trading
partner to delete that item from the system.
Managing items
You can view and process information on trade items and
item hierarchies. You can create, edit, modify, or delete items and
item hierarchies as required.
Managing partners
A trading partner is an organization or an
individual with whom information or data is accessed or exchanged
in the supplier chain, such as a manufacturer (seller), retailer (buyer),
or distributor. You can view and process trading partner requests.
You can also create new partners or modify information on existing
partners.
Global Data Synchronization reports
Global Data Synchronization (GDS) provides predefined report
templates to facilitate business reporting. You can use these report
templates to complete data synchronization tasks, perform business
process analysis, and generate management-level summary reports.
Configuring custom workflows
A CIN XML from data pool passes through various stages
in Global data synchronization. The Global data synchronization Receiver
module receives the CIN XML from the data pool. As the pass through
model is enabled by default, the pass through model scripts get triggered
that enable auto execution of process flow on the CIN XML. While the
execution of the pass through model script on a CIN, in case an error
is encountered, the message item is checked out into the appropriate
step in the custom GDS workflow. You are notified to perform the appropriate
action at this stage. Once you have finished your task, the rest of
the script is executed on the message item. This process is repeated
for every error that occurs till the end of the script. Once the script
has completed execution the message item is ready for further processing.
