Adding parties

Use Data Stewardship to add a party. There are two types of parties: a person or organization. Furthermore, a party can be a prospect, client, agent, customer service representative, or other contact. Add the party and its general profile, preferences to the system.

When you add a party, you may have a situation where there are two parties that are the same; that is, a duplicate version of the same party. Use the party suspect processing option in Data Stewardship to determine if that party currently exists in InfoSphere® MDM. If this option is selected, before adding the new party, InfoSphere MDM searches for parties that may be the same as the new party.

To ensure that the new party is unique within InfoSphere MDM, once created, the new party is assigned an identifier, called a party ID. Once added to the system, you can update the party record by adding details, correcting errors, or modifying the information for this party.
