Get started with IBM Business Process Manager

When you create process applications with IBM® Business Process Manager (BPM), you will use the Process Center and the Process Designer components of IBM BPM.

The Process Center includes a repository for all processes, services, and other assets that you create in the Process Designer. The Process Center window is sometimes referred to as the Process Center console.

The Process Designer is one of the authoring environments in IBM BPM.

To get started with IBM BPM and the MDM Application Toolkit, the key steps that you need to complete are:
  1. Import the application toolkit TWX file into the Process Center. This file contains the components of the application toolkit.
  2. Activate the IBM BPM Advanced Preferences.
  3. Create a process application.
  4. Add a dependency to the process application on the application toolkit.

When you complete these steps you will be ready to develop process applications in IBM BPM.
