IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management, Version 11.3
Using the SDK for Java and
Web Services
This reference includes detailed information about using
the software development kits for Java™ and
Web Services to create custom solutions and applications for the operational
server.
The topics cover the following topics:
Basics of Master Data Management (MDM)
Introduction to the operational server
Complete overview of the SDK offerings for Java and web services
Business and technical overview
Master data management (MDM) is the dynamic and intelligent
linking of data for the organization. The data to be linked can exist
in disparate applications, databases, and locations inside and outside
of the organization.
Getting started with the SDK
The SDKs consist of a complete set of APIs that allow you
to interact with the InfoSphere MDM operational server and to configure
it to suit your needs.
Basic interactions
Deploying the operational server at the Get Well Hospital
proved to be a great idea. Today doctors, surgeons, and nurses feel
it was an excellent step toward providing improved medical care for
their patients.
Java Callout handlers
Callout handlers allow you to send notifications or API
calls to external systems when certain events occur within the operational
server, such as entity linking and unlinking, member data modifications,
and member searches.
Member put interaction options and behavior
To understand the concepts about members, some background
information is needed. The operational server operates on a set of
data values that are known as a member. A member can represent anything,
including a customer record, an inventory part record, or a hotel
guest.
Error codes
