Information Management IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management, Version 10.1

Publishing data to downstream systems

You can use the IBM® Information Server product, along with IBM InfoSphere® Master Data Management Collaboration Server to transform data from downstream systems.

Procedure

  1. Exporting the product data

You can use existing IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management Collaboration Server features to export the product data into a CSV file that InfoSphere DataStage can read.

  2. Defining the attribute collection

You can define an attribute collection in InfoSphere MDM Collaboration Server to match the data that you want to import from DataStage. You can then import this metadata from InfoSphere MDM Collaboration Server in to DataStage to design and build your DataStage jobs. Before you can export your data from external or input systems to cleanse it using DataStage, you must define the attribute collection that includes the attributes from one or more of your specifications.

  3. Exporting the attribute collection

To cleanse the product information data, you must export the attribute collections created in InfoSphere MDM Collaboration Server in a format that DataStage can use.

  4. Importing the schema into IBM Information Server

You must import your XSD file into IBM Information Server. Importing the XSD creates the table definitions in DataStage that outline the column names, data type, length, and other column properties of the data that you want DataStage to process.

  5. Building InfoSphere DataStage and InfoSphere QualityStage jobs

You can use the DataStage and QualityStage Designer to build jobs that cleanse, transform, and write data to a database table or a comma separated value (CSV) file. After the data is written, you can import the data into IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management Collaboration Server
