Remote System window

Use the Remote System window to connect to a mainframe system to upload a mainframe job.

This window has the following controls:

Machine profile
Lists machine profiles that are already defined. If you select an existing profile, the remaining connection details are automatically filled in. If you do not select a machine profile, you need to fill in the remaining fields.
Platform
Specifies the type of mainframe platform.
IP Host name/address
Specifies a fully qualified host name or an IP address. If you create a new machine profile, specify the details for the system to which you want to connect.
User name
Specifies the user name or account on the mainframe system.
Password
Specifies the password for the user name or account on the mainframe system.
Source library
Specifies the name of the library on the remote system where mainframe source jobs are transferred.
Compile JCL library
Specifies the name of the library on the remote system where JCL compile files are transferred.
Run JCL library
Specifies the name of the library on the remote system where JCL run files are transferred.
Object library location
Specifies the name of the library on the remote system where compiler output is transferred.
Load library location
Specifies the name of the library on the remote system where executable programs are transferred.
DBRM library location
Specifies the name of the library on the remote system where information about a DB2 program is transferred.
Jobcard accounting information
Specifies identification information for the jobcard.
FTP Service
Specifies the type of file transfer service:
Active
Specifies that an active connection is used, which is typical when command processing is required.
Passive
Establishes a connection through a firewall that does not allow inbound communication.
Port
Specifies the network port ID for the FTP connection. The default port is 21.
Transfer type
Specifies the type of FTP transfer.
Connect
Connects to the mainframe system by using the connection information that you specified.
