Use the Description view to maintain basic information
about a logical variable.
- Name
- Enter a unique name for the logical rule
variable.
- Data Type
- Select a value from the list, including Any, Date, Numeric,
or String.
- Binding
- Select a binding from the Data Sources tab
or Literal tab in the palette.
- Short Description
- Type a short description for the logical rule variable. Short
descriptions are important because they can help uniquely identify
a category in a list of other categories with identical or similar
names. Short descriptions are used in many searches and are displayed
in lists of objects.
- Long Description
- Type a long description for the logical rule variable.
- Created By
- Shows the user name of the person who added the logical rule variable.
- Created On
- Shows the date that the logical rule variable was added to the
system.
- Last Modified
- Shows the date that the details of the logical rule variable were
last modified.
- Data Steward
- Shows the user who is responsible for the logical rule variable.
To change the data steward, click the steward icon next to the field
and select a user from the dialog that opens.
- Status
- Shows one of the following states of the logical rule variable:
- Candidate
- Indicates the initial state of a new logical rule variable.
- Accepted
- Indicates the reviewed state of a logical rule variable.
- Standard
- Indicates an agreed upon standard within your organization for
a logical rule variable of its type.
- Deprecated
- Indicates a logical rule variable that should not be used in future
activities.
- Draft
- Indicates a logical rule variable in the draft state.
- Rejected
- Indicates a logical rule variable that was not accepted.
