Discover additional columns

The Discover More feature allows you to discover columns within the metadata repository for mapping specifications.

Before you begin

You must have credentials and access to business glossary in order to find semantic similarities by using the discover function.

About this task

Your search is for columns that are semantically or lexically similar to the column you are trying to match. The similarity is measured by a score between 1 and 100, where 1 is no match and 100 is a complete match.

Procedure

To discover column matches:

  1. In the Mapping Editor, select a column cell from within the mapping specification table. If you want to discover the source column, then select the source column cell. If you want to discover the target column, select the target column cell.
  2. Click the Discover tab below the table in the Mapping Editor.
Tip: If you do not see a selection of tabs below the table, click the arrow that is located between the table and buttons at the bottom of the Mapping Editor.
